BALLSTON LAKE, NY (11/22/10) – Mark Kislowski officially ended his 2010 season as he made his first ever visit to the Five Mile Point Speedway for the Southern Tier 100. Unfortunately for Kislowski, a heat race incident sidelined his efforts for the night. It wasn’t the ending of the season he was looking. All in all Kislowski had a respectable 2010 racing season consider it was his first full season of action in the highly competitive Modified division at both Fonda Speedway and Utica-Rome Speedway.
Kislowski was honored a week ago at the annual Utica-Rome Speedway banquet at the Turning Stone Casino and Resort in Vernon, N.Y. Kislowski was the recipient of the Outstanding New Comer Award. Kislowski was able to walk away from 2010 at the speedway with a 13th place finish in the overall points. He earned a heat race win during the season and his best finish at Gene Cole’s facility was ninth place which occurred two times during the year on May 30th and July 17th.
This past Sunday night at the Italian American Club in Albany, N.Y., Kislowski was honored by Fonda Speedway promoter Ric Lucia as the Rookie of the Year in the Modified ranks. Kislowski finished 13th in the overall point standings as Fonda Speedway as well when the final tally was made. Kislowski had a solid season at the “Track of Champions” with a season best fourth place finish coming on July 23.
