BALLSTON LAKE, NY – The official point season has concluded at the Fonda Speedway and in his first year of big-block Modified competition Mark Kislowski finished the year in the top 15 in points.
Kislowski, piloting his usually number three Teo Pro car, secured an 11th and 13th place finish in the final night of competition at the Night of Features at the Fonda Speedway to earn his 13th place point finish.
It came just a few weeks after Kislowski was able to score his first career top five finish at the Fonda Speedway back on July 23rd.
“I just happen to be at the right place at the right time,” commented Kislowski about his top five finish. “I’m starting to get more comfortable in the car but it’s still tough out there.”
In a move to get more comfortable in the race car at Utica-Rome Speedway, Kislowski and car owner Ed Monger parted ways midway through the month of June. The team parted on good terms after Kislowski felt that being behind the wheel of his own mount two nights a week would be more beneficial.
“Ed does some different stuff with his car,” said Kislowski about the split. “In my first year of Modified racing I think it is better for me to drive my own car both nights so I can get more comfortable.”
Although he’s had a couple of tough night’s at Utica-Rome since the move, as a whole Kislowski has consistently been inside the top 15 with his feature finishes. This includes a 13th place finish in an impressive field at Utica-Rome’s Thunder on the Thruway series event back on July 29.
During the August 8 feature event, Kislowski made his way forward to lead a portion of the Modified main-event before giving way to Todd Burley and Stewart Friesen who went on for the victory.
Right now Kislowski sits 13th in the overall point standings at Utica-Rome ahead of former Sportsman champion Jason Rood and Modified feature win Pete Taylor.
Look for Kislowski and his Morris Auto Group team to finish out the season strong at the Utica-Rome Speedway while making a presence in the season ending races at both Fonda and Utica-Rome Speedways.
Be sure to come to the come out and see Mark in action in the No. 3 car at the Fonda Speedway each and every Saturday night or Sunday’s at the Utica-Rome Speedway. Stay up to date with the team and Mark’s progress at www.markkislsowski.com.
